My Story
Why I started this business is probably the same reason why almost anyone starts a photography business; I love taking photos of everything and anything. I love being able to capture a specific memory in a way that can express feeling and emotion to someone else.
As much as I love photography, I had chosen to pursue a degree in Biology and Chemistry. I have worked as a vet tech and most recently as a lab technician for a metal powders plant. Neither of these jobs gave me the satisfaction I was looking for. Over these last few years I have watched my family grow by three and this has changed my perspective on everything. A career keeping me away from my children for 40-60 hours a week was a huge burden that was getting tiresome. I needed a change from the same fixed schedule and drab work routine.

Before we got married my husband bought me a 35mm Cannon SLR. I loved it. I took it everywhere and used it every day especially after my daughter was born (mothers can't help the compulsion to take non-stop pictures of their kids). I loved my camera but with the upcoming digital age and the scarcity of film developers I upgraded to a DSLR and have been using it ever since.
Aside from my own portrait sessions with my children, I was being asked to help other people with their family portraits, senior photos, ect. After my son was born two years later, juggling the duties of being a wife, mother and full time technician began to weigh on me. I knew something had to change. I wanted a job where I not only had the option to have a more flexible schedule, but I wanted a job that I loved doing every day. One where I couldn’t wait to see what exciting opportunities were in store. Photography was the answer.
With a burning passion and the support of my family, I started to eat breath and sleep photography. I have been studying technique, composition, and editing and will be applying to become a member of the Professional Photographers Association in the near future. I have also have recently received my MBA focused on Entrepreneurship.
One of my favorite parts about photography is that the journey never ends. There is always more to learn and experiment with. Every session is filled with new perspective and for once I am doing a job that leaves me satisfied at the end of the day.
